Paschim Banga Gramin Bank was established on 26th February 2007 vide Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (Banking Division), New Delhi, Notification No.1/4/2006 – RRB dated the 26th February, 2007 in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 23A of the Regional Rural Bank Act, 1976 (21 of 1976) by amalgamation of Howrah Gramin Bank, Bardhaman Gramin Bank and Mayurakshi Gramin Bank (all three being treated as transferor banks) sponsored by the UCO Bank in the State of West Bengal. 

Paschim Banga Gramin Bank invites applications from Indian citizens, for the post of Officer in Middle Management Grade (Scale II), Officer in Junior Management (Scale I) Cadre and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) from Indian citizens who have appeared at the Common Written Examination for RRBs conducted by IBPS in September & October 2013 and
declared qualified.

At present the total starting emoluments are approx. Rs. 40536/- per month inclusive of DA & HRA at the current rate.

Officer JMG Scale-I:
At present the total starting emoluments are approx. Rs. 30298/- per month inclusive of DA & HRA at the current rate. Office Assistant (Multipurpose): At present the total starting emoluments are approx. Rs. 15100/- per month inclusive of DA & HRA at the current rate.

NOTE: Other allowances & perquisites will be admissible as per the rules of the Bank.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)  / Officer Scale-I -> Degree in any Discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent. Essential - Proficiency in Local Language.

Officer Scale-II (Treasury Manager) -> Candidate should be a Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a reputed Institute. One Year Experience.

Officer Scale-II (Law Officer) ->  Degree from a recognized University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Experience - Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for
a period not less than two years.

Officer Scale-II (Agriculture Officer) -> Degree from a recognized University in any discipline in Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Experience - Two Years.

Officer Scale-II (IT Officer) -> Degree from a recognized University in Electronics/ Communication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Desirable Experience - Certificate in ASP, PHP, C+++, JAVA, VB, VC, OCP etc. Minimum One Year Experience.

Officer Scale-II (General Banking) -> Degree from a recognized University in any discipline or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/Diploma in Banking, Finance Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. Experience - 2 years experience as an Officer in any Bank or Financial Institution.

Pre-Requisite Qualification:
Candidates who have been declared qualified in the RRBs-Online CWE conducted by IBPS in September/ October 2013 should have obtained the following Total Weighted Score (Qualifying Standard Score)

Selection Process:

(a) Selection will be made on the basis of performance in RRBs- CWE-II conducted by IBPS in September/ October 2013 and Personal Interview. Merit list of the candidates for final selection based on Total Weighted Standard Scores (TWSS) obtained by them in CWE of IBPS and Personal Interview will be prepared in descending order under each SC/ST/OBC/UR category.

(b) Personal Interview - Depending on the number of vacancies, Bank will call from among who have applied to bank, the number, equivalent to three times the number of vacancies short¬listed based on their Total Weighted Standard Scores (TWSS). Remaining applicants, if any will not receive an interview call from the Bank. The total marks for Interview will be 30. The Interview will be held at the Head Office, Paschim Banga Gramin Bank,Application Fee: Rs.20/- for SC/ST/PWD Category Candidates; Rs.100/- for all others. Requisite Application Fee may be paid through CBS at any of the Branches of Paschim Banga Gramin Bank, by means of a Payment challan available in the Bank’s website.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP:

A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate
belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Group Discussion/ Interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him/her.

Note: It is clarified that Persons with Disabilities will have to work in Branches/Offices which have posts identified by the Bank as suitable for them.

Candidates belonging to Reserved Category, including Persons with Disabilities, for which no reservation has been announced, are free to apply for vacancies announced for Unreserved category provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down for Unreserved category. The number of vacancies in UR category and also the number of reserved vacancies are provisional and may vary according to actual requirements of the Bank.
